Vault Cosmetics Bulawayo Launch

VAULT COSMETICS BULAWAYO LAUNCH

Internationally acclaimed make – up artist Jackie Mgido finally launched her make-up line in Bulawayo and Wow! What an event it was.

This was a well organised launch and being the lady that I am, I arrived early and got the chance to meet up with Jackie and do a one on one interview with her.

I must say for someone who has worked with big names such as Jamie Foxx, John Legend to name but a few, she is a very humble soul.

The interview will be up on the blog Monday morning.

Child, if you love and appreciate great make-up and you were not there where were you?
So we got a brief history and tutorial about the make-up line. And to put it in Jackie’s words; ‘It was created for us ladies by one of us.’

Now, I am one of those women that have a sensitive skin. The type that applies make-up now and five minutes later the face is full of rash and pimples.
That’s why I was a little shy and so not keen on having the make-up artist doll me up. But then I ended up taking the chance and oh holy sweet Mary the mother of Jesus, I liked what I saw when she was through with me.
When it comes to make-up I prefer to go for a subtle type of look and that’s exactly what I got.

And the various lip stain colours where to die for.
I love lipsticks and when I saw the colours I swear I thought I had died and gone to lipstick heaven.
Fell in love with the Magenta lip - gloss, you know us black girls should not go for the nude looks they make us look hungry and that’s not a good look.
This Magenta lip-gloss has a moist feel on your lips, its glossy and not matte,  a lip-gloss but has the same long lasting effect of a lipstick.

The prices range from $14 to $36 depending on your purchase, believe me when I say you will get your money’s worth, I kid you not. I got home two hours after having applied the make-up and Voila!!! No rash or nasty pimples on my face. I am in love guys.

I also got the chance to meet Namibian beauty Dillish Mathews who was the guest of honour at the launch.
The Season 8 winner of the Big Brother Africa reality show also has a line with Vault Cosmetics. This millionaire is more beautiful in person and sooo humble. I am still yet to purchase her lipsticks but they also come in lovely shades, personally l loved the purple, yes I love the royal colour.

So if you are in Bulawayo or Harare make your way to Truworths store and get yourself Vaulted by Jackie and Dillish cosmetics.
Plus the make-up artists you will find in store are very kind there won’t be any need for shade throwing, like what happens in other make-up sections kkkkkk.

Great job by the MCs for the day Mbo Mahocs and Gilmore T

Mbo Mahocs                                                                                      Gilmore T

I got VAULTED and I loved it, what are you waiting for?
For detailed interviews I did with Jackie Mgido and Dillish Mathews look out for my Motivational Monday post.

MAKE UP

                                                        MAKE UP

I have noticed that a lot of ladies are warming up to applying make-up, whereas back in the day women who applied make-up were considered to be of loose morals.

There are those that believe that make-up does not enhance beauty but
rather emphasises the lack of it, and some that swear by the brushes. And now we are at a point in time where the bright shades of lip stains are in style.

So after a bit of research and questioning of my friends who love make-up, I have come to the realisation that when it comes to make-up, you need to know your shade.

The perfect shade of foundation and face powder will do wonders for your face. This is where a lot of us go wrong, do not just buy a shade because your friend is using it and it looked oh so hot on her.

We have different skin-complexions, for different types of shades and face-powders. You need to consult the sales ladies that assist at the make-up sections in a store, though most of them are rude. If you encounter a rude one and who doesn’t want to do a make-up trial on you, immediately ask for the manager. It is your right to get a trial first if you don’t know your shade.

I once was a victim to these rude sales ladies, who just didn’t want to give me a make-up trial, well  after I was done with her my cousin and I left the store with free foundations and lipsticks kkk, I am no shit-starter but don’t come for me unless if I send for you.

So ladies never be intimidated by those sales ladies, and if you are totally clueless then go to stores like Edgars and Woolworths, they give great make-up tutorials and testers.

For those who asked I will be uploading my beauty secrets and the brands I use.
Do not shy away from make-up; just know what works for your skin BUT.....whenever you do use make up, NEVER go to bed with make-up on, if you lazy like me to wash your face every night then invest in a packet of face-wipes.

SIDE CHICK SAGA

Some people call them Small-Houses, and some side-chicks. These are the names used to refer to someone dating another woman’s husband. In most cases these women usually go for older and very rich married men, but lately even the broke brother can get a small-house.

Some ladies claim that married men are trained, as in they know how to treat a lady, and they are tamed kkkkk. Which if you think about it its true, but some lady took her time to tame him, to make him know how a lady should be treated and you just want to come and reap where you did not sow.

The bible says Eve was created from a rib that was taken from Adam, so every Eve has a Adam but its strange that some of these Eves want to take someone else’s rib.
One thing that I have noted when it comes to this issue of side-chicks is that if you in your youth made another woman cry herself to sleep, best believe that someday it will happen to you also.
And when it does one should not be offended, take heart child, its Karma!

Then you get ladies who will try to justify sleeping with a married man. ‘He is not happy at home with his wife; they are in the process of getting a divorce.’
I can’t believe that we have people who still fall for those lame excuses in the 21st century.

Personally I don’t care what reason you give, sleeping with someone els’s husband will never be okay in my eyes. We as women should not be the reason why another woman cries herself to sleep. Shouldn’t we have that sisterhood attitude? The I have your back anytime anywhere; the I am because you are! type of attitude?

As for the side chick that dates a married man out of spite and pure malice, hmmm hmm hmm,you all need prayers. Some women say the Mr Rights are all married, yes you see him as a Mr Right but she made him her Mr Right, find yourself a Mr Crooked and teach him to be your Mr Right.

Would like to hear your views on this, and if there are any side chicks reading don’t be shy now do leave a comment kkkk

SKIN BLEACHING

Today was a normal day, went for my morning jog. I always enjoy the fresh morning breeze; it gives you the energy to face whatever the day holds. Well today was no different from any other morning, until I came across some ladies who were also jogging

I glanced at them as I passed, then took another look at one of them kkkkkkk. Oh my dear Lord this lady almost made me burst with laughter. This lady she was light-skinned but ONLY in her face, from the neck downwards she was pitch black. She is not the first woman I have seen with a light face and the rest of the body was pitch black

A lot of ladies are bleaching their skins, in the hope of becoming a yellow-bone. Lord knows why our society seems to think that a light-skinned person is more beautiful than a dark skinned one. Why spend a lot of money on these lightening creams? And what baffles me the most is that these creams will lighten your skin but in the long run they start not working and you end up with black patches on your face (well most of those that are used in Africa do that)

Why am I saying this, because there are celebrities that have bleached their skins but it doesn’t seem to have the long term effects as the ones used in Africa. A celebrity like Beyonce Knowles if you look at her pictures from way back, the skin has changed dramatically. Tamar Braxton, Mshoza and Khanyi Mbau, these are some of the celebs that have gone down the route of skin bleaching.

Personally I think that buying these creams or getting injections to become light-skinned its absurd, why apply the creams if they only going to make your face lighter only? Why bother when it has been proven that in the long run your skin will become darker than your original complexion?

Outer beauty fades with time, whether you are light-skinned or not. We should all know that inner beauty is what is important in a woman. Embrace all your flaws, there are celebrities that are dark-skinned but very beautiful the likes of Gabrielle Union, literally speaking people should be comfortable in their own skin.
Well that is my opinion; let me know what you think of skin bleaching

FASHION FRIDAY!!!!!!!!

Its finally Friday, I would like to think everyone of us loves FRIDAY. I have made Fridays our Fashion Friday on this blog, so Fridays we do all things fashion. We will be interviewing celebrities or discussing a certain celeb every Friday.

Ok so some people do drugs and some drink alcohol, I don’t drink, don’t do drugs but I DO buy shoes, shoes and more shoes. I am a shoe-addict, I just love shoes. I am more of a heels type of girl but at times I do appreciate flats and sneakers.

Shoes are my weakness, buying shoes does wonders for me emotionally but financially it is bad for my pocket kkkkkk.
A pair of heels if worn correctly can do wonders for one’s confidence. A tip though; when you rock your high heels do not bend your knees, no matter how painful the shoe gets NEVER give in to the pain. Hold your head high and walk it off, strut, the world should be your run-way

I consider my shoes my babies. Well, EDEN is my Number 1, and then the shoes follow. I go to a mall to buy clothes and I return with a pair of heels, my husband never stresses about Valentine’s, birthday or anniversary presents because he knows the one present I truly appreciate is a pair of killer-heels.

So I have added a picture of some of my favourite babies. Would love to see your favourites so do leave a picture of you baby’s ladies. Kkkkkk.

WEAVES AND KIDS
Weaves, weaves hmmm the most talked about word and the least understood kkkk. As ladies we were told that our hair is our crowning glory and the fact that men seem to love long hair does not make it any easier for us who were not blessed with that long mane
Brazilian, Indian, Cambodian, Peruvian, Japanese, and Chinese any type of hair that catches your fancy is all good with me. As long as it makes you sleep better at night we A-Okay but I do have a problem with weaves on toddlers. I have noticed that a lot of toddlers are rocking all these weaves nowadays

I am all for a great weave but only on adults,i find it weird to see a toddler rocking a weave. It just doesn’t seem right. Are we not burdening our little princesses with these weaves? What exactly is the point of a three year old putting on that expensive weave?  why don’t you use that money to buy that cutie-pie books? Install a reading culture on that princess? Yes? No? Ok

After asking one of my good friends why her daughter had a huge Brazilian weave on? She said her daughter has tough, kinky African hair and it is hard to comb or maintain it. A very great answer, but I told her that there are products that are great for our kinky African hair. You have to know your hair type and then look for the best hair-product that works for your daughter.

I also have a princess who has that hard, kinky hair but you will never find her with a weave on. I want her to enjoy being a toddler, playing with sand and not having to worry about  spoiling her Brazilian weave. So my princess uses the Johnson’s Baby care range, it comes with a shampoo, conditioner and spray believe me it works wonders

But then again this is my opinion, leave your comments below and let me know what you think of weaves and our bambinos

HOW TO MAKE HIM PUT A RING ON IT!!!!!!

So I recently attended a baby shower party, hmmmmm I know, interesting hey. I had a lot of you INTERESTED at the words Baby Shower kkkk.  Truth be told they are fun and educational these baby shower parties (if you know what I mean).

Well the party was well organised, great food, great company and music. I was with one of my sisters. I won’t bother you guys with all the details or pictures of this party (disappointed right?)Kkkkkk.
As we were giving out the presents with my sister and a few of her friends this one lady raised her hand and asked the master of ceremony if she could ask a question. OMG here it comes she’s going to pledge we do some crazy stunts(I thought to myself). The lady then stood up and said” You ladies are looking mighty fine and classy,” hmmmm.
“Thank You,” we all chorused. Kkkkk, who doesn’t like to be told she’s the finest thing in a room full of ladies? LOL.

She then went on and said ‘‘but the main item on your bodies that attracted me and that made you lot stand out are those wedding rings on your fingers. Are those the real deal?” she asked
“Are you ALL Married for real for real?”
Kkkkkkk, I stifled a chuckle not because I was being mean or something but that was NOT the first time I had been asked that question by a lady.

After answering yes, she then said “well this is my lucky day because today ladies you all going to tell me how you got them to put a ring on it. I have a perfect job, not too bad looking (which was true) but I can’t seem to get a man to marry me and I am not getting any younger, I am in my late twenties for Pete’s sake.”
I looked at my sister expecting her to answer the lady. She in turn turned to look at her friends and they all did not know how to response just like me.
Well after a lot of thinking about it, today I will answer that question, not only to the lady who asked but to all the others who are asking the same question in their hearts. You get books and TV shows that give us the HOW to theories, How to make him stay (Girl if he wants to leave show him the door and let him be gone). Those are just theories to make people tune in and increase ratings for their shows. I mean seriously ladies what business do you have taking advice about marriage from a TV host who is not even married herself??Kkkkkk

I also don’t know how to get him to marry you, but I do know that if he wants you to be his wife, the mother to his children NOTHING will stop him from doing so. You get ladies who been shacking up with him for the past seven years and he still hasn’t put a ring on it yet. His excuse being he is still saving up for marriage kkkkk (dude please, get out of here).
Personally this is what happened in my situation thought of asking my hubby for his opinion on what made him decide this is my ride or die lady, my number 1? But he just went out so l am all alone on this one...well we dated for the whole of 2010. He went to pay lobola March 2011 so what happened in those 12months cannot be summed up into a paragraph but I will try...
He was the only guy I was dating (believe me just as we can tell when we being played so can guys). So dating the whole football team at the same time won’t get you anywhere.

Honesty---
This is a tricky one because we all have things that are too embarrassing to share with the guy you going gaga over, but believe me if he knows everything there is to know about you, and I mean every little embarrassing secret about you and still wants to date you, HE IS A KEEPER.

Trust......
I had problems with this one, how do you trust when you had been cheated upon? But ladies trust me when I say just as much as we have been heartbroken by men there are a lot of great guys out there. So I trusted my hubby (my then boyfriend) with my everything. Such that even if he went out I knew that he was mine no other girl could make her move on him and win, you know why? Well besides the fact that he was a great honest guy, I trusted ME more, yep that’s right I had so much confidence in myself  that I knew no girl can compete with what he saw in me..And that is my personality

Many a times we think men are interested in our physical appearances, but it’s your personality that wins him over. Do you have his best interests at heart or ours only? Do you wish him the best that life can offer or you just looking out for your interests only? Don’t be an “I WANT, I WANT” type of girl nobody likes that.

Love......
l loved him with my whole being, you know that type of love that when you think about that person you start smiling often hear people say I got butterflies in my stomach ,,butterflies????I got the whole zoo in my stomach when I saw him (and I still do). I believe that what you give out is exactly what you will get in return and thus the love I gave I got in return.

Communication...
I love talking can go on and on without stopping, so I heard no problem voicing my feelings. If there is something he does that you do not like say it, do not bottle things up. Yes we fought and quarrelled but I knew he was my HE IS THE ONE so even when we did fight I didn’t do it in such a way that would hurt him via words. A lot of ladies we good at this hurting with words!!!! Always remember a lady knows how to pick her fights KKK and fight tactfully.

And  ladies, being in your late twenties doesn’t mean your time has passed and you need to hurry up and get married and have them babies, nahh ahhhh baby that is society’s crazy perception and real women won’t be bothered by that, you know why? Because they know God’s time is always the BEST for he knows the plans he has for us not to harm nor destroy us but to prosper and give us hope. Just trust in him
Feel free to leave your comment or advice on this topic. Lets build each other ladies don’t be stingy with those tips kkkk

20...Fixit

2015 ............Year of fixing everything

20....FIX IT!!!!!!!

Ok so we already towards the end of the first month of the year 2015, you made resolutions, that in 2015 this is what I want to achieve. Come 2015 I am not going to do this and that come 2015 I am going to do ABC. Well what did you say you were going to do in 2015 have you actually done???What steps have you taken towards achieving your resolutions???

People, 2015 is a year for the strong ones, a year not meant for the faint-hearted, a year that only the strong are going to excel in, you might ask yourself how does she know this? Who is she anyways? Kkkkk. Great questions and my answer is this I had plans for 2015 but they changed once I heard what a lot of men of God had to say concerning 2015,,one said 2015 is a year of building everything that is not ok in your life, working towards that goal that you had set for yourself a long time ago

Then I logged onto Facebook and my sister had written that 2015 is 20...FIX IT...couldn’t have said it better my dear sister Precious Shamiah Masuku.

I for one won’t take any lazy people seriously, this is not the year for excuses, ahhhhh I can’t do this or I am not working because our country’s economy is not stable, ummmm I am not working because jobs are hard to find... Child Pleasee!!!!!!!!! Instead of crying about your country’s messed up economy make sure you investing in yourself, if you do not have all your academic papers how on earth are you going to get a JOB?

You find someone with 3 O Level or Matric passescomplaining that they can’t get a job,,,,YES Dear with only three passes you will definitely NOT get a job, better yourself, rewrite those other subjects

Then there is the issue of our aspiring soccer stars who are busy crying foul, blaming this coach and that coach, guys man up and starting getting your bodies in shape, run and exercise. How will you be able to run 90 minutes if you not physically fit?
And drowning your sorrows in alcohol wont help either, so if you going to drink like there is no tomorrow don’t be disappointed when you go for your trials and you not picked as one of the crème’ de la crème.
Don’t blame the coaches because after all the coaches cannot expect boys to do a man’s job,,, so boys stay at home and whine about life while man go out there and WORK

Ladies the era of being a qualified housewife is long gone!!!!!These days’ real women juggle a career and motherhood so let us set great examples for our daughters
Lets chat about this, leave your comment below and advise on how we can help each other 20...FIX this year.
It’s NEVER!!!!too late to go back to school, no excuses come December we will be reflecting on our journeys, so don’t hate when people are sharing their achievements and you got nothing to write home about kkkkkkk

CONFIDENCE AND MOTHERHOOD

Ok so before big belly and baby came along you were a size 6 or 8 and behold after baby you can barely recognise your own body. This is the reality that we as women have to face, believe me when the baby comes alot of your body parts change but there is no book that prepares us for all of this. Most book tell us about the joys of being a mother and believe me there is no book that can truly explain to you the feeling that you get when you hold that bundle of joy in your arms for the first time.

Yes we love our bambinos but how do you get your sexy back?how do you get your flat tummy back? The correct answer would be for you to exercise ,exercise and more exercise kkkkkk easier said than done. I was a size 30 0r 32 before my angel arrived with a tiny waist and big firm blossom. Well nothing stays the same after you have been into the delivery room and exercising child!!!!it aint easy,,i have tried it and been on many diets but my body weight just wouldn’t go down

My dear mother reminded me of the power of Confidence,if worn correctly it can be your biggest weapon.hmmmmmm some of you are probably wondering what i am on about well a few weeks ago i posted a picture on facebook,it got alot of likes and alot of ladies asking me how i had lost the weight, well i hadn’t lost alot of kilograms on the scale but i had figured out the art of making your clothes suit your body type not making your body suit clothes, get it??

Ok let me brteak it down we as ladies spend most of ourb time trying to sculpt our bodies into fitting certain clothes that are deemed fashionable by society,,it doesn’t have to be that way ladies aftall what might seem fashionable to me might not be whats fashionable to you,,so learn the art of dressing properly for your body type and i promise you will enjoy it more

Ladies lets  be comfortable in our bodies and yes lets exercise too its great for the mind,,lets set great examples for our daughters beauty is not the number on the scale, inner beauty outshines the outside beauty

AFCON 2015

The AFCON 2015 kicked off, this means that the battle of the remote will intensify in most households kkkkk luckily not in mine because I appreciate football. I didn’t get to watch the first match but I did make sure that I watched Burkina Faso play against Gabon
The Stallions are my favourites this year as I loved the way they played in the last competitions in South Africa. The match started off with both the Panthers and Stallions attacking. I was a bit worried when I realised that Bance was not in the starting eleven but I took heart that J Pitroipa had been one of the starting eleven
Burkina Faso seemed to be coming heavy on the Panthers, with the Panthers defence being found napping but the man at the gate saved his defenders time and again. The Panthers hit man and Captain scored the first goal and created the second one and thus making him my man of the match.
I wasn’t disappointed when the result was 2-0 in favour of Gabon when the match ended as its still early days and in the game of football anything can happen. Burkina Faso are still my favourites, those who know me know that I have always been an Ivory Coast supporter but I think that the Didier Drogba and Yaya Toure eras have passed and we have alot of promising youngsters that are going to bring the football pitch ablaze
So this time around the Stallions are my team, as for my sisters who are stressed about the games and the remote control I say give football a chance and you will love it, it’s not that complicated plus laughing at the funny hairstyles that our African brothers are rocking is a bonus kkkkkk
My two cents advise for our own coaches;;;; If you look at the first goal, the Captain’s attempt at goal was saved but he quickly redeemed himself fast and looked up to see where he was going to place his shot then he released it, so I think our players should be taught the importance of Looking Up at goal not just kicking the ball without even raising your head to see where the keeper is at and where you can place your shot.
